China visa in Canada or abroad?
I am holding a Canada passport currently organizing my trip to Asia including China, I have no idea when exactly I will be in China as I am open for changes in my itinerary while I am traveling, my question is should I apply for a long term visa if yes, is it easy to get it? or will it make more sense to apply it when I have made up may mind for entry dates? but in that case I will be traveling other countries around China and I heard it is better to apply China visa in home country.
Normally you can get a 3 month tourist visa easily if you are holding Canadian passport, will that enough time to get in to China for you?
China double entry visa
What are the requirements of double entry visa for China? I am arriving at Beijing in mid July then I will go to Hong Kong after few days in Hong Kong I will fly to Beijing for my connection flight to Toronto, I need double entry visa for this, am I right?
If you will take home bound flight without leaving the airport and within 24 hours time frame then you do not need double entry visa. If you have to leave from airport for additional stay in Beijing then you will need two entry visa in this case you have to show confirmed air-ticket and hotel booking in China.
I need to apply for a Chinese visa soon. My passport was made 4 years back and I look quite different from my passport after a cosmetic operation and change of my hair style, should I submit my original picture or a recent one?
In my humble opinion it is better to get a new passport. You might able to persuade the visa officer about your identity and get visa but still you will have some hard time explaining your situation each time you take a flight , in worst case you might even not allowed to get on board.
We are going to Shanghai for a short business trip then according to the outcome of our business meeting we will fly to Japan or back to Canada, therefore we have booked one way ticket, can we get visa with one way ticket?
Yes, even with one way ticket you can get Chinese Visa.
I have a Canadian passport. I will arrive at Beijing airport around 2 pm. My connecting flight to Amsterdam will be the next day at 11 pm.
Is it possible to leave the airport to get a hotel without a visa ?
I am leaving to China next week with a three month tourist visa. I am actually going for a job interview, if I got the job can I apply for the Z visa in China?
As a rule you need to apply for Z visa in your home country, but some visa service providers in China claims they can provide visa change service without leaving China.
Can tou please tell me if it is possible to apply for a year – Multi entry visa to China in Canada for a US passport holder?
Also if this is possible, what documents do i require for this?
@admin :
How reliable those visa service providers, can we trust them with our passport and all the documents? is it possible for you to suggest one?
I can suggest some, also try to search threads from forum of foreign expats in China, they will have latest feedbacks. Try to find some one who has proper company, office and legal business.
I am holding Canadian passport with a British wife. Next month we will be visiting Hongkong for 4 days short trip, Do we need visas and what is required for obtaining visa.
Canadian passport holders are exempt from a visa to Hong Kong for 90 days, British passport holders are exempt from a visa to Hong Kong for 180 days.
Both of you do not need any visa for entering Hong Kong.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am citizen of Kazakhstan. We have tourist for Canada. I will visit Canada in the July. Can I get a visa to China form Chinese embassy in Ottawa? If so, what type and for how long?
Thanks in advance.
I am on holiday in US and wish to visit China before going back to Canada, how do I apply for my Chinese Visa?
You do not need to back to Canada for applying visa you can apply in US.
I would just like to know what is the allowed period of time for a multiple entry visa. How long I am allowed to stay in each entry. I am Canadian and just got a 6 month multiple entry visa for China,
Usually each entry is good for one month stay, it is written on the visa, please check the visa you have got.
My husband work in Shanghai. he has a Work Visa, I want to visit him with my kids in Shanghai and stay with him for some time. How can I apply visa for this trip? what are the requirements? we are Canadians living in Ottawa.
If you want to apply tourist visa you just need to show confirmation of air ticket and provide following :
1. An original copy of passport with enough blank visa pages, valid for at least another 6 months.
2. Fully completed copy of Visa Application Forms (Form V2011A and Form V2011B) signed by the actual applicant.
3. One recent 2×2(in.)-sized color passport photo with white in background.
I am coming to Hong Kong for a meeting, my return flight will has a stopover in Shanghai, I want to do a quick sightseeing tour for 1-2 days maximum, do I need visa for that? I am Canadian Nationality.
You do not need a visa for China if your stay in Shanghai is less than 48 hours. if more than 48 ours you have to apply for a visa.
We currently hold Hong Kong ID card and Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (returning card).
If our flight is directly from say Canada to Shanghai.
Please advice will I still need a China Visitor Visa to enter China?
Chinese Consulate in Montreal

Chinese Embassy Vancouver
My husband and I are Canadian citizens, leaving Canada August 26th, 2011 and travelling in several countries (NZ, Australia, Bali) before leaving on a 16 day cruise from Singapore to Beijing. We will enter Shanghai on November 6th, leave the same day, and then finish the cruise in Beijing on November 11th. We will spend five days in Beijing, flying back home to Canada on the 15th. We understand that we need a double-entry visa but have never been to China before, so can only get a three month visa. The problem for us is that we can’t apply for our China Visa until after August 15th, which doesn’t leave us much time to send our passports away to Vancouver (and thus having to trust mail/delivery services) and have them back to us before we leave. Is it possible to get a six month visa, given these circumstances? Thank you!
Chinese Consulate Montreal
I am holder of a Canadian passport, and will be attending an academic conference in Beijing in late September. For that, I will need a visa to enter China.
I understand that a new Chinese Consulate has just been established in Montreal (where I reside and work at Concordia University). Please advise whether it is now possible for me to apply for a Chinese visa at the Chinese Consulate in Montreal. If this is the case, please let me know the address and phone number, as I have not been able to obtain this information.
Thank you very much.

I am at the moment in Canada, but I usually live in China on a work visa. Looking through this page all I see is info regarding the Business Visa and I am interested in the Z (Work/Residence) visa. I have my letter of invitation, an offical/stamped copy of my contract, passport sized photos, and my passport. I know there is a form that I must fill out, but I am looking for more information regarding the process of getting my new visa in Toronto. Which office do I go too? Can I request a one day rush service? What is the cost? What else should I supply the consulate in Toronto?
Thank-you for your time

Is the new Chinese consulate in Montreal open for service? I need to apply for a 12 month visa.
I am a Canadian citizen and I want to go to my friend’s wedding in China. I haven’t bought airline tickets yet but want to get my visa first because I don’t know my exact travel dates but I am sure I will be going to the wedding. Will I have any problems with getting a visa to China if I submit my application without confirmed tickets? I plan on staying with the bride so I also don’t have hotel reservations. (The bride is also Canadian).
You need to have a return air-ticket and hotel booking confirmation to show to Chinese embassy, you can get a ticket and hotel booking online and change it later if you want. At booking.com you can book a hotel and cancel or change it later, the same for air ticket.
Chinese Consulate in Montreal
Could I ask for a visa at the new Chinese General Consulate in Montreal?
Please let me know the address and phone number. I have not been able to obtain this information and I really need it, thanks.
Visa issue in Canada for UK passport

Thanks

I am a flight attendant so it is a condition of my employment to be in possession of my passport at all times. When I renew my Canadian passport it is done in one day because of my employment provided I have a letter from my employer. Can I apply for a Chinese visa without turning over my actual passport with a letter from my employer? What is the cost difference to get my visa in one day?
I lost my Canadian passport while travelling in Australia recently and was on my way to Beijing. I had Chinese business visa for entry to Beijing. I now have a new Canadian passport – how do I replace the Chinese visa so that I can travel to Beijing? What is the process?
Hong Kong smart ID Card
Dear sir/madam,
I would like to know how my parents can apply for a hong kong smart ID card in Vancouver in order to get the $6000? They are the holders of the 3-star hong kong ID card. It was said that if they apply for a Hong Kong passport, they can apply for the smart ID card at the same time. If they can do so, what documents do they need?
Thanks for your attention and look forward to your earliest reply.
Regards
Beatrice
Hong Kong Smart Hong Kong Card
My parents, both are over 80s, live in Ottawa, Canada. They hold 3-stars Hong Kong Identity Cards issued before 2003. In September, they sent their applications for HK$6,000 to the SAR of Hong Kong but the official response was that “they need to get their old identity cards replaced by the smart card – HK ID”. In recent years, my mother has avoided travelling out of Ottawa home due to her restricted mobility.
Could you advise if they can apply for smart HK identity cards through the Ottawa Chinese embassy? If so, do they need to go in person to the office to apply? Moreover, what types of documents do they need?
Thanks for your attention and compassionate consideration in this matter.

APPLICATION FOR HKD6000
Dear Sirs,
My parents lived in Hong Kong for over 40 years and then immigrated into Canada (Calgary) for 20 years. They have the very old HK id card. I heard that your embassy would be able to help them to get their smart cards so that they can apply for the HKD6000. Please advise what steps I should take.
Thank you for your assistance and attendion.
An executive from our bank will be visiting colleagues in both Shanghai and Beijing in April, 2012.
We know he requires a Visa but does he require one for entry into Shanghai and other Visa to enter Beijing?
Does he require 2 Visas or will one Visa issued from the People’ s Republic of China allow him entry into the two above listed cities?
Thank you
I have old hk id (the one without chip).
Can I apply HK id in Toronto.?
What information is required? How long will it take?
Thanks.
Appointment
I have heard that you need to book an appointment online before taking your visa application form in to be processed in Toronto is that true?
Application for HK smart ID
I am a holder of the old Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card (HKPIC) (not the new smart HKID) residing in Toronto. Because of my physical illness, I am not physically fit to travel. It would be nice if you could guide me if there are any ways I can apply for the HK smart ID in Toronto with your China Embassy in Canada so that I can register for the HKD6000 scheme.
Thank you so much for your attention and awaiting for your reply.
