I have a Belgium passport and I will be visiting Japan in the end of the May, currently I am in Korea. I would like to go to China from Japan. I learned that I cannot get my Chinese visa in Korea as I will be on a tourist visa, and I was wondering if it is the same thing in Japan. Can I apply for a visa to China from Japan if I have a tourist visa .

You can try to apply for a China visa from Japan if you have a Japan tourist visa. But it is easier to obtain a China visa in France or the country where you reside.

My wife has got her China visa last year in Japan, it was not difficult, she does not have Japan residence but I have.

Yes, you need a transit visa and you can apply it at Chinese Embassy in Japan with following documents, visa cost 4000 Japanese Yen.
a. A valid passport with enough blank pages.
b. Certificate of alien registration (to the aliens who have the visa with the period of more than half a year in Japan)
c. One recently taken, bareheaded, full-faced photo.
d. Onward air-ticket and hotel reservation in China

Work Visa
I am a U.S. citizen and currently live in China. I am currently in China on a tourist visa, but soon will be teaching in China. I will soon arrive in Tokyo in order to change from a tourist visa to a work visa. My son lives in Tokyo. My school is currently obtaining the proper documents for me. My husband lives with me in China. Does he also have to come to Japan with me to get his visa? May I obtain a visa for him without his coming with me to Japan?
