Kyiv and Beijing have signed agreements and contracts worth $3.5 billion during Chinese President Hu Jintao’s visit to Ukraine, according to ambassador to Chinese Embassy in Ukraine.
“According to preliminary calculations, the agreements, projects and contracts signed during the Hu Jintao’s visit are estimated at about $3.5 billion,” he said on Monday.
Ambassador recalled that during the visit, the sides had signed a declaration on the establishment and development of strategic relations between Ukraine and China, as well as intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements and commercial contracts in the energy and trade sector, as well as on the opening of Ukraine’s consulate general in China.
He said that in general, he was satisfied with the talks with the Chinese leader and praised the agreements reached by the sides.
The Chinese leader’s visit to Ukraine started on June 18 and will end on June 20.
Hu’s visit is the first visit by a Chinese leader to Ukraine for a decade.
